Smart agriculture for innovative vegetable crop protection
SmartProtect is a project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme (GA 862563). The project’s objective is to create a thematic network focusing on cross regional knowledge sharing of SMART IPM solutions for farmers and advisors. The aim is to stimulate knowledge flow in the regional Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKISs) across the E.U. and connect these on the innovative potential of advanced methodologies for Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in vegetable production, integrating precision farming technologies and data analytics.
SmartProtect Innovation Rally in IPM Essen 2023 trade fair
From 24 till 27 January 2023, SmartProtect will be in the IPM Essen 2023 trade fair in Essen, Germany (https://www.ipm-essen.de/world-trade-fair/). IPM Essen is the world’s leading trade fair for horticulture and will be the meeting place for the green sector. SmartProtect will organize its Innovation Rally showcasing SmartProtect Platform and demonstrating different IPM techniques for vegetable crops. Interested end-users will have the ability to familiarize with such techniques and learn more about IPM tools and methods. You may find SmartProtect in the corner stand 4B15.1 in hall 4.
SmartProtect seminar on Smart IPM techniques in IPM Essen 2023 trade fair
SmartProtect will also perform a seminar on IPM techniques on the 26th of January in IPM Essen, in room N in the conference hall of the Congress Center South at 10.15 am. The seminar includes information about IPM in vegetables around the EU, UV technologies for pest control, mobile applications for pest and disease detection in vegetables, as well as insect monitoring case studies from Latvia and Belgium. You may find room N in the intermediate floor of Congress Center South (From the Foyer of Hall 1 you can use the elevator to go downstairs to the Congress Rooms).
